A long way to the new heart

Luca is 17 years old. A great age! The world lies at your feet, all possibilities to shape the future are still open.

But Luca carries only a half heart in his chest and with this he was in such a life-threatening condition a few weeks before, that he could not even leave his bed.

Berlin Heart has introduced with the EXCOR® Venous Cannula a novel therapeutical concept for all patients with failing Fontan circulation like Luca.

 

This helped to improve Luca’s health condition quickly and we keep our fingers crossed that he will soon receive a donor heart.
